Trenton is a rural town rich in agriculture. Farming is a major source of income for local residents. Local farmers specialize in growing peanuts and corn, which are sold nationally to large suppliers as well as locally in farmer's markets. Trenton dairy farms produce quality dairy products that are also sold locally and nationally. Agriculture is the area's largest industry and, as a result, Trenton schools incorporate agricultural education into the curriculum.
